A 29-year-old man has been stabbed after he confronted a 14-year-old intruder during an alleged altercation at a unit on Cairns Esplanade.

A 29-year-old man has been stabbed after he confronted a 14-year-old intruder during an alleged altercation at a unit on Cairns Esplanade.
The Gordonvale boy has been arrested after and charged over the incident.
Police will be allege the teen broke into the unit on Saturday morning.
It will be further alleged the man woke up and a short altercation occurred, before he was stabbed.
The 29-year-old man was taken to Cairns hospital where he received treatment.
Police will allege the boy also stole a car from Gordonvale on April 12.
The teen was arrested on Tuesday morning after he was located on Charles Street.
He has been charged with one count each of wounding, enter dwelling, and unlawful use of motor vehicle.
The boy was refused bail and will appear before Cairns Childrens Court on April 24.
