FNQ’s best junior rugby league players to keep an eye on

Some of these names are already on the Cowboys’ radar, and many more aren’t far off. They’re just a few of 60+ players under 18 dominating in the region. SEE THE LIST HERE

Aussie rules, soccer and basketball all have their followings, but rugby league remains king when it comes to FNQ sports.

This is backed up by the immense junior following the code has across Cairns and its surrounding towns, with high levels of representation from a club, school and professional level.

Both the Northern Pride and NQ Cowboys provide a pipeline for league hopefuls – of which there are many – looking to carve out a name for themselves in the NRL.

We’ve spoken to coaches and junior club presidents from across the Far North to bring you the top names gracing the fields in the region.

Don’t be surprised to see any of these names donning the Maroons jersey one day.
