Fire warning declared for Millstream, Archer River, Kennedy Highway
A stay informed notice has been issued for parts of the Tablelands following a fire near the Kennedy Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

A stay informed warning has been issued for parts of the Tablelands on Tuesday evening.
The Queensland Fire Department issued the downgraded notice for Millstream, 126km south of Cairns, as of 5.17pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier, the Queensland Fire Department issued a Prepare to Leave warning at 3.51pm, for properties between Archer Creek and Millstream, including along the Kennedy Highway.
In a statement, QFD confirmed a large fire was burning near the Kennedy Highway, travelling towards Archer Creek.
“Conditions could get worse quickly,” the statement said.
“Firefighters are working to contain the fire. You should not expect a firefighter at your door. “Firefighting aircraft are helping ground crews.”
