One of Queensland’s leading early learning groups, Edge Early Learning, is expanding its footprint within the Cairns region, poised and ready to offer quality education and care for up to 270 children by late 2024.

The group is set to bring two new purpose-built centres to the region by the end of the year, located in Edmonton and Gordonvale.

The expansion of one of Australia’s fastest growing early learning groups will help offset the growing demand for quality care and education within the Cairns region.

“Since 2017 we have built a reputable educational practice in the early learning space across south east Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, while looking to enhance our footprint north and into the Cairns region,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.

“Our expansion plans are in line with the ever-increasing demand that parents have for their children to have access to safe and inspiring environments, where little ones can create meaning about the world around them and develop a lifelong love of learning, all while fostering relationships with their educators and peers.”

The first Edge Early Learning centre opened in July 2023 at Woree and caters for up to 75 children per day.

“We’ve seen strong demand from local families at our Woree centre who are seeking early learning environments that both support the needs of the community, offer added convenience for parents, and who are committed to delivering an exceptional early learning experience for their children,” Ms Bryce said.

While the new Edmonton centre is already in development and set to open mid-year on Walker Road, Edge’s Gordonvale centre will be located on Draper Road and is due to open in late 2024.

Centres will feature spacious age specific learning spaces with modern resources, large outdoor environments with fun and relaxing play areas, vegetable gardens, undercover courtyards, easily accessible carparks, kitchens with in-house chefs catering to all dietary requirements, and much more.

With all three centres located within a 20-minute radius, once all locations are open, Edge will be in a position to offer quality education and care for up to 270 children per day aged 6-weeks to school age within the area and provide 65 job opportunities for the local community.
