Police are on the hunt for a driver who ran from the scene of a two-vehicle crash that injured a woman last week, and a person responsible for an unrelated series of deliberately lit fires in Cairns.

Edmonton Police are seeking public assistance in relation to a head-on two-vehicle crash that caused a woman to be rushed to hospital with a nasty leg injury.

Police allege the driver of a white Toyota HiLux dual cab utility fled the scene of a crash in Edmonton that left a Cairns woman in hospital.

About 3.15pm on Tuesday, November 12, a Mitsubishi 380 collided with a Toyota HiLux on Ravizza Dr in Edmonton.

The 24-year-old woman driving the Mitsubishi sustained a serious leg injury and was taken by ambulance to Cairns Hospital for medical treatment.

Police are appealing for public assistance, seeking CCTV vision or dash camera vision of the crash, to determine the manner of driving prior to the crash and to identify the man fleeing the scene.
