UPDATE: A CAIRNS cafe manager has gone to ground amid reports the he lied about a visit from celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson.
Botanica Edge Hill’s manager Matt Black on Thursday told ABC Far North the famous couple had dined at the cafe on Wednesday, requesting a private space and for workers to leave their phones out on the counters.
The Daily Mail Australia claimed there was no way Kardashian could have been in Australia as she was pictured on Tuesday night just hours before she was supposedly seen in Edge Hill.
When the Cairns Post visited Mr Black’s restaurant on Friday afternoon and put the claims to him, he offered “no comment”.
A representative of Davidson’s told the Daily Mail Australia that the comedian was currently in production in Australia “without Kim”.

Davidson is in the Far North filming for new movie Wizards! alongside Orlando Bloom.
On Friday afternoon, businessman Chris Bowtell posted his brush with the famed comedian on Instagram, with the photo showing the pair posed outside of Blvck Temple Tattoo on Lake Street.
“When having a pic taken with Pete Davidson remind me not to wear Kayne Wests brand Essentials hoodie,” his caption read.
When contacted for comment, a worker at Blvck Temple Tattoo said Mr Davidson did not get a tattoo before saying she could not say anything further.
Meanwhile, in true celebrity fashion, pop icon Katy Perry hid behind sunglasses and a large hat as she explored her new neighbourhoodof Port Douglas on Friday, after she and fiance Orlando Bloom arrived in their new Aussie home on Wednesday.
The couple landed in Australia this week with their one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, and Bloom’s 11-year-old son, Flynn, whom he shares with his former partner, Miranda Kerr.
The American Idol judge was dressed for the warm Queensland weather on Friday’s shopping trip, wearing a simple white dress, sunglasses and a hat, while stopping to look at baby clothes for daughter Daisy, and jewellery at a local boutique.
The notoriously private A-listers will call Port Douglas home for the next three months while Bloom shoots his new film Wizards!with Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
THURSDAY, JUNE 16: COMEDIAN Pete Davidson has been spotted in Cairns with high-profile girlfriend Kim Kardashian, dining at Edge Hill cafes and frequenting arcades.
Taking to Botanica Edge Hill for breakfast on Thursday morning, the celeb couple are in the region as Davidson films new movie Wizards! in the Daintree.
His co-star Orlando Bloom and popster partner Katy Perry touched down at Cairns Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
CEO of Tourism Port Douglas Daintree Tara Bennett said having global celebrities in the region “certainly helps” boost tourism as it gets back on its feet.
“Having these famous names in the Far North helps raise the profile of our destination, showcasing the wilderness, experiences and values we offer to a global audience,” she said.
“It’s very exciting and we hope they find some time outside filming to experience the wonderful opportunities we offer.
“Port Douglas and the Daintree from the early days have had a reputation of respecting celebrity privacy and giving the opportunity to enjoy their space, so I hope nothing changes in that regard.”

A worker at nearby Edge Hill business NOA said she heard of the couple’s appearance in the suburb while having breakfast at Botanica but didn’t see anything herself.
“I think if heaps of people knew it would be too much excitement, they’re extremely famous and not many people of that level come through Cairns,” she said.
“It would be amazing if they did come back and dine at NOA, I think we’re one of the nicer placers in town and it would be brilliant to serve them here.”

The invites kept coming for the famous couple, with local sporting team the JCU Mariners have taken it upon themselves to extend a warm Queensland welcome to the Far North’s newest locals, sliding into the DMs of Davidson’s high-profile girlfriend Kim Kardashian with an invite to the club’s clash with Barron Trinity Bulls on Saturday.
“Just looking to see if you wanted to come down to Ivanhoes Sports Complex this Saturday at 4pm and watch the boys take on the Barron Bulls at Rugby Union, which I’m sure will be a thriller,” the message read, which was posted on the Mariners’ Facebook page.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15: CAIRNS is looking starry-eyed after one half of Hollywood’s most talked-about couple was spotted in a Cairns arcade, with two other A-list names touching down at Cairns airport.
Celeb spotters were buzzing after seeing former Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson in Timezone on Abbott St on Wednesday night.
A witness at the venue said the celeb mingled with other patrons who took their chance to pose up with the comedian, but was mostly left alone by staff members.
Pete Davidson is currently in town filming for a new movie Wizards!, directed by David Michod, following two beach-bar operators who find themselves in trouble when they stumble across stolen loot.
While it can’t be confirmed whether he was accompanied by high-profile girlfriend Kim Kardashian, recent Instagram shots show the pair having a day out on a tropical island.
Actor Orlando Bloom and pop star Katy Perry were also confirmed to have touched down in the Far North on Wednesday afternoon with Mr Bloom set to join Mr Davidson on the set of Wizards.
The pair flew into the region with their daughter Daisy Dove and were expected to be staying in Australia for three months while the movie is being filmed.
