Cairns woman allegedly defrauded money via monthly deposits across four years
A woman in Far North Queensland has been defrauded of a large amount of money after she was conned into making regular deposits into what she thought was a local community bank.

A woman in Far North Queensland has been defrauded of a “large amount of money” after she was conned into making regular deposits into what she thought was a local community bank.
Authorities allege the ruse was carried out by a 35-year-old Cairns man, who defrauded the woman of her money through monthly deposits across four years, beginning in 2021.
Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch charged the Cairns man on Sunday, March 30 with one count of fraud.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrate’s Court next month.
