Petrolheads and motorbike fans are in for a treat at the third annual Classic Motorcycle Show.

Members of the Cairns Motorcycle Restorers Club will show off up to 80 classic bikes, and vehicles from as far back as the 1930s will be on display.

The event will take place at the AMX Superstore from 9.30am-2pm on Saturday May 4.

Club president Paul Bennett said anyone was welcome to attend this year’s event.

“We encourage families to come down, we’re not just a bunch of old farts who love bikes,” Mr Bennett said.

“We hope to attract anyone that’s in to car restoration, and of course classic vehicles are often what people become very interested in during their retirement.

“The event should appeal to a broad range of people.”

Motorcycles from a vast range of manufacturers and countries, from household names such as Harley Davidson and Ducati to more unheard of brands, will feature at this year’s event.

There will also be a coffee stand to keep people perked up while they admire the bikes.

Organisers were hoping for a big turnout in the event’s third year, with about 200 people set to attend throughout the morning.
