POLICE forensic crash teams will investigate a crash that claimed the life of a young motorcycle rider in Edmonton on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the Exploration Way single vehicle crash at 3.30pm.
Three Queensland Ambulance Service units, including a critical care team, worked to save the 25-year-old motorcyclist but he died at the scene.
Police said the Mount Peter man’s motorcycle left the roadway and collided with nearby objects.

The fatal incident follows the death of popular Port Douglas woman Shanti Wren on March 2 who was thrown from a motorcycle as a passenger at Barrier St, Port Douglas.
February was the deadliest month of the year for motorcyclists when 13 riders were killed in 28 days across Queensland.
The spike in fatalities prompted a safety message from Assistant Commissioner Ben Marcus.
“As riders, our safety is largely up to us. On a motorcycle, you are 30 times more likely to die in a crash than if you were in a car – when everything on the road is bigger than you, you just have to be more careful,” he said.
On February 3 Kenneth Cyril Soper was killed on his Harley Davidson at Toogood Rd and on January 25 14-year-old Irvinebank lad Andrew Beazley was killed on Herberton-Petford Road in a motorbike and truck crash.
Police urge anyone with information relating to the crash, or anyone who has dashcam or CCTV vision from the area around that time, to contact police.
