Australia’s major airlines have launched their massive Boxing Day sales, slashing fares from Cairns to domestic and international hotspots starting from just $69.

Across the country Virgin Australia is selling more than 500,000 discounted domestic and international fares, Jetstar is selling discounted fares across 85 domestic and international routes, and Qantas has discounted fares available on almost every domestic route.

Jetstar’s domestic one-way fares from Cairns start at just $69 with one way international fares from $169.

The budget airline has launched a 48-hour sale, which includes cheap flights to Aussie holiday hotspot Bali with flights from Cairns to Bali being offered from $169.

Cairns’ domestic travellers can fly to the Gold Coast for as low as $69, Newcastle from $89, Sydney from $99, Perth from $149 and Darwin from $135.

For those looking for a Japanese style vacation Virgin Australia is offering flights from Cairns to Tokyo for as low as $679 return.

Cut-price airfares across Australia via Virgin include Brisbane flights from $105, Melbourne from $145, Perth from $209, and Sydney from $135.

Qantas’ cheap flights start from $129 for flights to Townsville with regional flights to Horn Island and Weipa from $139 and $159 respectively.

Within Queensland, flights to the capital will also begin at $159, a Mackay trip will begin at $219 and Rockhampton flights will begin at $279.

For those travelling interstate from the Far North Sydney flights will start at $179, Melbourne will see traveller flying from $229 and those travelling to Darwin can get a one way flight from $249
