Brownlow medal regulars Taylor Wilson, Lauren Phillips, Rebecca Twigley, Lauren Poulter, Chantelle Raleigh get ready

THERE is no better way to be glamorous at the Brownlow Medal than wearing a dress worth $500,000.

THERE is no better way to be glamorous at the Brownlow Medal than wearing a dress worth $500,000.

Taylor Wilson, girlfriend of Collingwood's medal fancy Dane Swan, will tomorrow night wear a stunning diamond-encrusted creation by Aldo Terlato Couture of Richmond.

"It just adds to it that you're wearing more diamonds than your life is worth," Ms Wilson said.

"It will be nice to look back and know you were wearing a classy dress."

Terlato has spent more than 100 hours making the dress and hand-sewing the diamonds.

"It's a show-stopper and it oozes class and sophistication," he said.

Wilson will glitter on the new blue carpet. The silk georgette gown has 1105 diamonds ranging from 15 points to one carat that are encased in white gold.

"It's nice having a bit of attention," she said.

Gorgeous Geelong WAG Lauren Phillips is hoping it will be third time lucky for boyfriend Gary Ablett at the medal count.

"Gary has gone in as the favourite for the past three years, so we've learnt not to listen too much to all the hype," Ms Phillips said. "It's hard because people have expectations, but you can't do anything about it now, so we just plan to go out and enjoy the night."

A fortunate Ms Phillips has had three dresses -- designed for her by Thurley -- to choose from this year.

"I'm the worst decision maker. It came down to three dresses and the consensus of six of us settled on the one," she said.

Ms Phillips will have the chance to comment on what other WAGs, such as Rebecca Twigley, are wearing when she reports live from the blue carpet for A Current Affair.

Twigley has not put a fashion foot wrong since her Brownlow debut in 2004 in that now famous red dress. But with the increased profile comes increased pressure.

"There is definitely pressure there, but teaming up with the J'Aton boys (Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino) I know it's going to be amazing," Twigley said.

Tigers captain Chris Newman will walk the blue carpet with a more attractive date than last year when he partnered Matthew Richardson. This year the AFL star is taking his girlfriend of two years, Lauren Poulter.

It will be the first Brownlow for Ms Poulter, who works in accounts for a building company.

"I'm nervous, but excited," she said.

Poulter and Chantelle Raleigh, partner of Roos ruckman Hamish McIntosh, will don gowns from designer Karen Willis Holmes.
