Virgin Australia slashes hundreds of flights in time for Halloween

A major airline has slashed more than 500,000 fares on travel favourites like Hamilton Island and Fiji, but only for 24 hours.

Virgin Australia has slashed more than 500,000 fares, in a flash 24-hour sale.

The sale, just in time for Halloween, includes some Aussie-favourites such as Vanuatu, Fiji, Bali and the Whitsundays, with fares starting at just $45.

For those looking to relax domestically, the cheapest one-way Economy Lite flight departs from Sydney to Ballina (Byron Bay) for just $45, followed by a one-way flight from Melbourne to Launceston for $65.

Prices for domestic trips from Adelaide to Hobart starts at just $99, and flights from Brisbane to Hamilton Island start at $115. You can also take a one-way trip from Sydney to the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast for just $69.

The sale also includes some of Australia’s favourite international destinations, including Fiji, Bali and Vanuatu.

Economy Lite fares are available from Sydney to Queenstown for $359

Other deals include Brisbane to Fiji for $479 and Sydney to Bali for $499.

The Virgin Australia Halloween sale begins on Thursday October 31 and will end at midnight AEDT Thursday October 31 (unless sold out prior) for select travel dates between January 15 2025 and May 31 2025. All sale fares include Velocity Frequent Flyer Points and Status Credits.
