AN $8 million boost to study on causes of type 1 diabetes will enable more recruits who are pregnant or have a newborn to take part.

AUSTRALIA'S largest study on the causes of type 1 diabetes in early life is getting an $8 million shot in the arm.

THE Environmental Determinants of Islet Autoimmunity (ENDIA) study will ultimately investigate 1400 pregnant women and new mothers from around the country to help solve the mystery of what causes the disease.
