A father and son have died after their plane crashed into a field in South Australia’s north.
The pilot, Ben Mumford, 50, and his son Charlie, 24, were on-board the plane as it flew over Redhill near Crystal Brook on Sunday afternoon.
The aircraft reportedly hit power lines before crashing into a field about 4.10pm.
Witnesses pulled the men from the wreckage before emergency services arrived.
Charlie died at the scene while his father was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died overnight.
According to 7 News, the family of the two men were among the first on the scene to pull them from the wreckage, with Charlie’s brother suffering burns during the rescue attempt.
The crash also sparked a grass fire in the area that was extinguished by Country Fire Service and local farm units.
Investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau attended the scene on Monday and are working with major crash officers to determine the circumstances around the incident.
