Police release footage in hunt for pair who sprayed baby with fire extinguisher

Police are still hunting two people who injured a baby with a fire extinguisher in a seemingly random attack on Sunday night.

Police have released footage of a pair suspected of spraying a fire extinguisher into a car in an incident that injured a five-month-old baby.

The incident happened on the night of June 15 at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. Two people on a e-bike pulled up next to a car at traffic lights and sprayed the extinguisher through a window.

On Thursday, Queensland Police released footage of the pair, riding in tandem on an e-scooter.

The mother of baby Pixie, Tiffani Teasdale, earlier told the ABC about the terrifying incident.

Sunshine Coast baby Pixie was taken to hospital after being sprayed by a fire extinguisher in her car seat.

“The car just filled up with gas and white powder straight away,” she said.

“(Pixie) was completely covered in white powder and just looked like she was in shock, she wasn’t even crying.”

Pixie was in the car with Mr Teasedale’s partner.

Pixie’s eyes had to be flushed out in hospital.

“I’ve never heard her scream like that before, I actually had to leave the room.

“The doctors had to hold her down for me because it was the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard … no one should have to go through that.”

“Obviously, it was a very traumatic experience for both of us, especially him as he was there but we are both doing OK,” Ms Teasedale said.

“(Pixie’s) as happy as ever, she is not showing any signs of breathing issues, her skin is a little bit irritated … but other than that she is doing really well.

“Fingers crossed we find them.”

Police want information from anyone who was in the area of High St, near Sippy Downs Drive, between 7.30pm and 8.20pm on Sunday to come forward.

The fire extinguisher was taken from a nearby car park earlier on the night.
