An alleged unlicensed drunk-driver’s finger-licking craving for KFC has landed him in a world of trouble after he drove the wrong way through a Melbourne drive-through, becoming stuck on the kerb.

Police were called to the Doncaster KFC restaurant on Doncaster Rd about 9pm on June 13 after the man caught the attention of staff driving the wrong way.

The 42-year-old Templestowe Lower man’s Honda sedan became stuck on the drive-through kerb and he allegedly tested positive to alcohol when stopped by police.

“Unlike a certain 11 secret herbs and spices, drinking and driving are an original recipe for disaster,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
Police further allege the man was unlicensed and refused to take part in an evidentiary breath test.

The man had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $913.70 – the equivalent of 115 zinger burgers.

He was expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences, Victoria Police said.
