Police allege the traffic camera vehicle was parked on Nicholson St in Coburg when about 12.30am on Friday it was set upon by a group of hooded men.
The group, who are seen wearing hoods and face coverings, were captured on video allegedly jumping on the car, as well as throwing rocks and a wheelie bin.
Officers allege the attack, which lasted just seconds, resulted in the back window on the vehicle being smashed open before the group fled.

Investigators have since released images and CCTV of men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
