Police are still hunting two shooters who fired weapons in separate incidents across southeast Queensland on Thursday morning, leaving one man in hospital.

A 31-year-old man was shot in his upper body during an incident at a property at Lockyer Valley, in the state’s southeast, just before 6am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

Police believe the shooter fled the scene shortly before officers arrived.

The incident occurred only hours after a firearm was discharged during a home invasion at Deagon, in Brisbane’s north.

An unknown offender forced their way into the Edith St home after midnight and was confronted by the male and female occupants, according to a Queensland Police statement.

As investigations continued through Thursday, police shared an update saying the incident was likely a targeted attack.

“Initial investigations indicate one of the offenders shot a glass door to gain access to the home where they were confronted by the occupants.

“The offender then shot a chair and the occupants fled to a neighbouring home,” police say.

“Offenders disturbed several items in the home, but it is believed nothing was stolen.

“Early investigations suggest it may be a targeted attack.”

Police say the offenders fled in a white Subaru Outback toward Rainbow Street, Sandgate.

Neither occupant of the house was physically injured.

Queensland Police confirmed no arrests had been made as of midday Thursday.

Detective Inspector John Mison said police were appealing for information on the movements of the white Subaru Outlander.

“Detectives will examine all avenues of inquiry, including ballistics testing, and all witness accounts to locate these offenders.

“Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage, particularly in relation to the vehicle, is urged to come forward.”

Crime scenes have been established at both properties and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
