Man charged with murder after 2yo found unconscious at regional home

A man has been charged over the alleged murder of a two-year-old boy found unconscious at a regional home.

A man has been charged over the alleged murder over a baby in Tamworth.

A man has been charged with murder after a two-year-old infant was found unconscious at a home in Tamworth in northeast NSW.

Emergency services were called to Hillvue Rd in South Tamworth shortly before 4pm on January 18 after reports a child was found unconscious.

Paramedics treated the child at the scene before he was rushed to Tamworth Base Hospital.

Tragically, the infant died at the hospital sometime later.

A man has been charged over the alleged murder over a baby in Tamworth.

Local police with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad have since launched an investigation into the death.

On Friday, they arrested a 23-year-old man at a home in Gunnedah.

The man was taken to Tamworth police station where he was charged with a single count of domestic violence-related murder.

He was refused bail overnight before appearing before Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

He has since been remanded into custody to appear before Tamworth Local Court on April 16.
