Heartbreaking update after woman’s body found in NSW

Devastating details have emerged about a young woman who went missing from her Canberra home in late September.

A woman whose remains were found in NSW after going missing in Canberra was an employee at the French Embassy.

Mathilde Ines Pouliquin, 26, known by the name “Ines”, was reported missing from her Dickson home in Canberra on September 27.

Ms Pouliquin’s body was found near Wells Creek at Berrima in NSW’s southern highlands.

Following confirmation of her death, the French Embassy penned a tribute to Ms Pouliquin, saying it was “deeply saddened” by the news.

“The Embassy of France in Australia and all her colleagues associate themselves with the grievance of her family and friends,” the statement read.

Ms Pouliquin’s red Volkswagen Golf sedan with registration plates Y0P57Z was last seen on the Hume Highway between Berrima and the ACT on September 27.

It was later seen in the same area where her body was located about 10.45am on September 29, an hour before her remains were found.

“The vehicle is distinctive as it has significant hail damage to all panels of the vehicle,” a statement from NSW Police read.

While her death is not being treated as suspicious, NSW Police has urged anyone with information to contact Southern Highlands Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
