The former manager of Australian pop star Guy Sebastian is facing legal delays as he prepares to face trial over allegations he embezzled the singer’s earnings.

Titus Emanuel Day was found guilty of 34 fraud-related charges, including misappropriating more than $620,000, by a jury in 2022.

The manager to the stars, who has consistently maintained his innocence, launched an appeal against his convictions last year.

The appeal was granted by the Court of Criminal Appeal in December and his convictions were quashed.

Acting Justice Carolyn Simpson ordered a new trial be held into the allegations.

On Thursday, Mr Day was expected to be arraigned on the charges when he appeared in the NSW District Court wearing a navy suit and blue and white tie.

However, Crown prosecutor Katrina MacKenzie asked the court to adjourn the matter for two weeks “to allow the indictment to be completely finalised” so the matter could proceed to arraignment.

Mr Day’s lawyer Lauren MacDougall told the court that she “reluctantly” didn’t oppose the request.

“The indictment has significant changes so it’s in the interest of the accused to consider whether those amendments will be objected to or not,” she said.

Judge Christopher O’Brien adjourned the matter until April 12.

Mr Day became Mr Sebastian’s manager in 2009 and the pair became close friends before they had a bitter falling out eight years later.

The award-winning musician claimed he had found anomalies in his financial records that he blamed on his manager.

He launched legal proceedings against his former friend to recoup the money he claimed he was owed.

Mr Day hit back with a counterclaim that alleged he was the one owed money by the former Australian Idol winner.

Both men have vehemently denied the allegations against them.
