Dramatic scenes as police arrest hundreds in Dial-a-Dealer sting
More than 100 people have been arrested and hundreds of bags of illicit drugs, cash and vehicles seized by police as part of a sweeping operation.

Dramatic scenes have unfolded after more than 100 alleged drug dealers were arrested in a sweeping sting operation in NSW in which police seized vehicles, cash and drugs.
NSW Police’s Dial-a-Dealer operation, which took place over three weekends between November and December, oversaw the arrest of 108 people, 64 of which were charged with supplying a prohibited drug, 44 were charged with drug possession offences and one person was charged with domestic violence-related crimes.
As part of the operation, police also seized $20,000 worth of illicit drugs, including almost 560g of cocaine, which made up more than 650 individual bags.
Police also seized more than 27g of MDMA and 467g of cannabis, 450g of THC edibles, 3.5g of ketamine and 0.7mg of ice.
More than $90,000 and five vehicles were also seized under asset confiscation protocols.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna said the targeted operation would continue in 2025.
“Whether they are major drug suppliers, mid-level or street level, I will continue to put resources into disrupting their operations and prosecuting them for their true criminality,” he said.
“We opened 2024 with a significant operation targeting major dealers and have continued to put pressure on illegal drug distribution, with these three weekends of action focused on street-level distributors.”
As part of the massive operation, police arrested a 22-year-old man about 6pm on November 22 after he was stopped on Hunter St in Sydney. Police searched his belongings and allegedly found 14 bags of cocaine and more than $6000 in cash, which was located in a hidden compartment.
On Saturday, December 7, an 18-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were arrested after police stopped and searched their vehicle in Gymea. Police allegedly found 10 bags of cocaine, $1415 in cash and a can of pepper spray.
The woman was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug and one count each of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and deal with property proceeds of crime.
She was granted conditional bail and is set to appear before Sutherland Local Court on January 9, 2025.
The 21-year-old man was charged with two counts of supply a prohibited drug and one count of deal with property proceeds of crime.
He was initially refused bail to appear before Parramatta Court on Sunday, December 8. There he was granted conditional bail and is set to appear before Sutherland Local Court on January 9, 2025.
As part of the sting operation, a 22-year-old Korean national was also arrested on Spring St in Sydney about 4.30pm on November 29. Police allegedly located and seized 21 bags of cocaine, 60 MDMA caps and $760 in cash.
He was charged with four offences, three counts of supply a prohibited drug and one count of deal with property proceeds of crime.
On Saturday, police arrested a 45-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man on Bondi Rd in Bondi after allegedly finding 24 bags of cocaine inside a vehicle alongside $3450 in cash and a knife.
Both were charged with supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime and custody of a knife in a public place.
The pair have been granted conditional bail and will appear before Waverley Local Court on January 7, 2025
A 31-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in Bondi after police allegedly found nine bags of cocaine, three bags of MDMA, a bag of cannabis and $1110 in cash.
The man was charged with three counts of supply a prohibited drug, possess a prohibited drug, and deal with the proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail and will appear in Waverley Local Court in Tuesday, December 10.
