Two Sydney childcare workers have been charged with assaulting a 17-month-old boy in their care.
Detectives with State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad received reports of the 17-month-old boy being injured at an early learning centre in South Wentworthville on June 26.
It is alleged the boy’s injuries were caused by two childcare workers at the centre in separate incidents on the same day.
A 42-year-old woman has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault. A 32-year-old woman was charged with common assault.
Both women are due to appear in Blacktown Local Court on August 27.
Parents and carers who are concerned a child or children may be at risk are being asked to contact the Child Protection Helpline on 132 111 or police.
