Child in hospital with critical injuries after horror car hit in Melbourne

A three-year-old child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car.

A child is fighting for life in hospital after being struck by a car in Melbourne’s outer southeast on Thursday.

The horror crash happened about 8.30am, Victoria Police said, at Endeavour Hills.

“It is believed a vehicle struck the child at the intersection of James Cook Drive and Heatherton Road,” the police said.

“The pedestrian, a three-year-old child, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“The driver, a 24-year-old Endeavour Hills man, stopped at the scene and is speaking with police.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and investigations remain ongoing.”

The police are calling on anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage or any other information to contact Crimestoppers.
