Influenced by the latest viral Tik-Tok trend, Aussie mums have dished on the white lies they tell their kids.

Mums have confessed their ultimate parent hacks “without judgement” to a Brisbane social media page, from pretending Maccas was closed to handing a knowingly “poopy” baby to dad.

The Tik-Tok trend of “we listen and we don’t judge” has taken over social media in recent weeks creating a judgement free space for participants to confess hilarious truths that make life that little bit easier for them.

One Brisbane mum said she tells her small children that when an ice cream van plays a tune it means they’re out of stock.

Another confessed that if her baby has just done a “poop” she will hand her to her husband.

“I give her to my husband for ‘daddy and daughter time’ then five minutes later say “oh can you check her bum, it’s been a while since last nappy change,” she said.

A Logan mother said she often would bribe her children.

“I ask them to give me a foot massage for $10 but never follow through with the money,” the mother said.

One frustrated mother said she had given into her dairy intolerant son.

A frustrated mother said she allows her dairy intolerant son to eat stringy cheese.

“He refuses to give up string cheese so I let him eat it to save a fight,” she said.

A number of mothers said they believe their children “learn from natural consequences” after their warning has failed.

“I very much believe in natural consequences, if I tell my son a million times not to do something because he will get hurt I just ends up letting him do it,” one said.

“When he then gets the natural consequence of doing it he never does it again afterwards.”

A classic white lie was popular among several mothers who told their children that telling fibs would make their tongue blue.

“When my eldest was telling obvious lies I told him that his tongue turned blue so I knew he was lying. Then after a couple of years he asked me why he couldn’t see his blue tongue and I said only parents could see it,” a mother said.

Parents have admitted to all sorts of white lies.

“(It) worked right up until he was eight years old.”

Another mother said she similarly tells her young son a “truth telling” red dot appears on his forehead.

“The red dot only adults can see, so now when he fibs he either hides his forehead or I just look at him until he says “can you see the dot?,” she said.
