Gold Coast influencer Anna Paul is facing a mass exodus of followers, with 600,000 people unfollowing her on TikTok in what social media users are calling “The Great Unfollowing of 2025”.
Paul, who was once hailed as one of Australia’s most beloved influencers, has seen her follower count drop from 7.4 million to 6.8 million since January 27, when former best friend and fellow influencer Mikaela Testa released an explosive video accusing her of misleading fans and profiting off deceptive business tactics.
Testa’s scathing eight-minute video, which was posted to Tiktok on January 29, has amassed nearly 20 million views. It alleges Paul’s image as a body positivity advocate is a facade.
She recalled an incident in which a plus-sized fan approached Paul for a hug and photo, thanking her for helping her feel comfortable in her own body.
According to Testa, Paul’s response in person did not match the positivity she promotes online.
“Things like this were a common occurrence,” Testa claimed in the video.
“Seeing your fakeness in the flesh was such a disturbing experience.”
Testa also slammed Paul’s widely publicised cash giveaways, alleging they are a deceptive tactic to lure subscribers to her OnlyFans account, which costs $16 per month.
“By posting Instagram stories advertising that you’re sending money to subscribers, you are directly trying to lure new customers over to your page, a page which costs $16 to access,” Testa said.
“This $16 is essentially a lottery ticket … It’s a plot for profit rather than a giveback situation as [Anna] disguises it.”
In addition, Testa questioned Paul’s claims of growing up in poverty, alleging the influencer’s family was well-off and that her father earned triple the average Australian income.
“Their dad, making triple the average Australian income per week, had them living in a beautiful house on the water with a built-in pool. I’ve seen the house in person. It’s beautiful,” Testa said.
“Being upper middle class is not being poor, Anna.”
Online sleuths have since tracked down Paul’s childhood home on Bribie Island, claiming the property is worth $2 million, further fuelling speculation about the influencer’s financial background.
As the controversy continues to escalate, fans are demanding a response from Paul and her influencer brother, Atis, who has also remained silent.
“Where’s the statement? Where’s the accountability?” one frustrated fan commented.
Another added, “Do they think they can just sit silent and we’re just going to f***ing forget?!”
The feud has drawn comparisons to the infamous 2020 beauty influencer drama involving Jeffree Star and Tati Westbrook.
“This is our James Charles, Jeffree Star Tati Westbrook moment,” tiktoker Matt Hey said.
“This is dramagedon bogan version.”
