Southern Watch Commander Brad Wallace said police had arrested one man who allegedly broke into an East Side home just after 11pm Wednesday.

Sergeant Wallace said the home’s occupant had been asleep at the time of the alleged break-in but woke to find their home had been burgled.

He said the alleged thief stole two bottles of wine.

Sergeant Wallace said the adult man remained in custody.

In a separate incident, Sergeant Wallace said police were searching for a stolen Toyota Camry.

He said the gunmetal grey vehicle – with NT registration CE68JI – was stolen from a Braitling home about 12.46am Thursday.

Sergeant Wallace said the vehicle and its driver were yet to be found.

Man attacked, cop cars written off: Police probe Alice Springs crime spree

November 13, 6am: Five children are on the run after they allegedly threw a shovel, bike, and garden ornaments at an elderly man in an attempt to rob him.

Southern Watch Commander Marc Watson said the group allegedly entered the backyard of an Alice Springs residence about 10.25pm Tuesday.

Sergeant Watson said the 82-year-old male occupant confronted the group but was struck by one of the allegedly thrown items.

He alleged the group threatened the man for cash but fled the scene when he went back inside his home.

In a separate incident, Sergeant Watson said a group of four people allegedly broke into an Ilparpa home and threatened its two occupants.

He said the group allegedly demanded car keys from the pair – aged 19 and 20 – and fled the scene in their vehicle.

Sergeant Watson said the silver Toyota Corolla sedan with NT registration MANGOS was still outstanding.

He said the pair was not physically harmed but they were “traumatised” by the incident.

In another incident, Sergeant Watson said the dog operations unit was tracking down the driver of a stolen HiLux who allegedly drove the vehicle directly at multiple police cars.

He said two police vehicles had been “written off” over the early hours of Wednesday morning as a result of the incidents.

Sergeant Watson said the stolen vehicle had been abandoned by the alleged offender, and he had fled into bushland.

Man arrested after alleged attack on sister, mother

November 12, 6am: A 25-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after her brother allegedly attacked her.

Southern Watch Commander Marc Watson said a 33-year-old man allegedly attacked his sister and 54-year-old mother in Alice Springs about 11.35pm Monday.

Sergeant Watson said the 25-year-old woman’s injuries were non-life threatening but she was receiving treatment at the Alice Springs Hospital.

He said the 54-year-old woman did not require medical treatment.

Sergeant Watson said the man was arrested at the scene and remained in custody while police investigated.

He said there was “no further risk to the community”.

In a separate incident, Sergeant Watson said a 14-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly drove dangerously through the Alice Springs CBD in a stolen car.

He alleged the teen stole the silver Nissan X-Trail on Monday but was spotted driving erratically by CCTV operators in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Sergeant Watson said when operators spotted the teen walking through Todd Mall, general duties members co-ordinated their efforts to pursue and arrest him.

He said the teen remained in custody and would likely be charged with using a motor vehicle without consent as well as other traffic-related offences.

‘Lengthy list’ of charges for teen over months-old incidents

Sergeant Watson said police would allege the boy drove a stolen vehicle dangerously and drove “directly” at police officers in several locations.

He said the teen would be charged with five counts of recklessly endangering life among others.
