A man was dealt several charges for allegedly bashing a woman and later allegedly attempting to run over three others in Alice Springs.

Northern Territory Police received reports of a man, aged 25, allegedly assaulting a woman known to him on Gregory Tce about 6.20pm Saturday, moments before he fled the area.

Police alleged a short time after the man drove a car “at speed” towards a group of people known to him on Hartley St, forcing them to run to avoid being hit.

The group — two women, aged 50 and 53, and a man, aged 60 — were not hurt and did not require medical treatment.

Police said the 25-year-old man fled the scene before officers arrived, but was arrested at a home in Gillen later that evening.

He was charged with Acts intended to cause serious harm, Aggravated assault, Engage in conduct that contravenes a domestic violence order and multiple traffic offences.

He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 15 September 2025.
