AFL Barwon’s tribunal is set for a busy Tuesday night after three players confirmed they will contest their suspensions.
Meanwhile, Geelong West’s Tanner Stone will spend four weeks on the sidelines after he accepted two separate suspensions for engaging in rough conduct.
The Giant was cited for two dangerous tackles after Grovedale requested the vision of two different tackles Stone had laid on Tiger Lachlan Smith in the second and fourth quarter of Geelong West’s win.
Stone, who collected 13 disposals and kicked a goal in the Giants’ 16-point win against the Tigers, will now miss important clashes with Newtown & Chilwell and St Joseph’s, as well as matches against Lara and St Albans.
Three players from the BFL will front the tribunal to argue their case against suspension, with Anglesea’s Stefan Callea, Queenscliff’s Justin Maher and Modewarre’s Lindsay Phillips fighting for their football freedom.
Callea was offered a two-match ban for rough conduct on Ocean Grove’s Fletcher Kerk, while Maher also received a two-match sanction for intentionally striking Modewarre’s Jackson O’Hanlon.
Phillips will also fight his two-match suspension for rough conduct on Queenscliff’s Brod Dawson.
Meanwhile, Werribee Centrals player Josh Sutton accepted his reprimand for tripping East Geelong’s Ryan Lempa in the GDFL.
