NSW Health is investigating the 10 worst active clusters of COVID-19 across the state including a Bondi Beach party with led to 20 infections. The state tally of cases rose to 1617 on Saturday and the number of deaths to eight.

NSW Health is investigating the worst active clusters of COVID-19, with a Bondi Beach party and a social media star’s wedding topping the list.
Dozens of backpackers partied at the Bucket List bar in Bondi for event Boogie Wonderland on March 15 which resulted in more than 20 people being infected with the deadly virus.
The beach party was held before Prime Minister Scott Morrison banned outdoor gatherings of more than 500 people.
The gathering resulted in several new diagnoses of COVID-19 among the Sydney backpacker community.
While social media star Jimmy Niggles wedding in Stanwell Tops to Emma Metcalf infected more than 35 guests.
Between 10 and 20 people have been infected at Dorothy Henderson Lodge aged care home in Macquarie Park, with a 90-year-old resident dying after testing positive to the virus.
And another 10-20 people were infected at a church meeting in Ryde and at a Bondi restaurant.
There were five infections or less at Opal Aged Care facility in Bankstown, Normanhurst public school in Hornsby, a wedding at Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley, a wedding at St Andrews’ Church and a rugby tournament in Camperdown.
The state tally topped 1617 on Saturday, an increase of 200 cases in 24 hours.
