A young man who crashed his car on a Victorian highway has seemingly vanished into thin air.
Shepparton man Corey crashed his car at the corner of the Melba Highway and Castella Rd around 11am on Friday.
Police found the 24-year-old’s badly damaged black 2002 Subaru Forester on the side of the road.
But he was nowhere to be seen.
Officers tried to make contact with the young man so he could assist in having his damaged car towed. But they could not reach him either.
Several witnesses who stopped to offer Corey assistance following the car crash told police the 24-year-old said he was going to get in contact with his family and call a tow-truck.
He then vanished.
Police do not know how Corey left the scene of the accident but were able to confirm with family members that he had not been in contact.
A tow truck had not been called either.
Loved ones are now concerned the Shepparton local may have a head injury, given the disappearance is out of character.
Police were told Corey did not appear to have any obvious injuries from the crash.
Local police, the Air Wing and the State Emergency Services (SES) have been searching the surrounding area, but are yet to find any sign of him.
He is described as being 180cm tall with a thin build and brown straight hair.
He was last seen wearing black pants, a white top, a baseball cap and sunglasses.
