A speedcamera hidden in western Sydney has sparked outrage among road users after a vehicle was caught hiding behind a tree.
The white car, which was photographed on Palmyra Ave on the outskirts of St Marys, was found parked on a footpath, partially behind a tree.
“Not only is the operator of the vehicle hiding behind a tree, they’re illegally parked on the footpath,” Hadley said.
“You don’t need an investigation, the rego is clearly visible, or partially visible,” he said.
“We’ve given you all the details. Tell the operators to stop hiding behind trees.”
Road Minister Natalie Ward told the radio station that she had provided a clear directive to operators that they needed to be clearly visible.
“I am as frustrated as your listeners and have directed Transport for NSW to investigate the images,” the Minister said.
According to Transport NSW, Mobile Speed Cameras, such as the one pictured, are managed by Transport for NSW in partnership with NSW Police, but are outsourced to private contractors.
