A predator caught on dashcam footage trying to kill an underage girl he groomed online has been jailed for 43 years.
Ellis Dismore, 24, from the UK, used various fake social media accounts to pose as a young teen and hound his victim before threatening her with violence and rape.
The man later ambushed her in broad daylight after she got off her school bus and pretended he needed medical assistance to get her attention.
Dashcam footage then shows him chasing her down the road before stabbing her five times in the back and chest on June 22, 2023.
Miraculously, she survived the attempted murder after a passing driver bravely intervened and told her to get in the car before driving her to a nearby hospital.
The court heard that the attack would have likely been fatal if that passing motorist hadn’t stepped in.
In a statement presented to the court, the girl said that Dismore had “ruined” her life, saying that she was a “normal, happy” teenager before being made to feel like a “prisoner”.
Police found that Dismore had contacted eight other victims online over seven years, grooming them and encouraging them to send explicit images.
He was sentenced to 38 years in prison, followed by an additional five years, after being found guilty of 26 offences, including attempted murder, making indecent photographs of children, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard that he would elicit his young teen victims to share naked photos of themselves before threatening to share these images and to harm or rape the girls if they didn’t comply with his demands.
He would then try to meet up with them and engage in sexual activity, again threatening them if they refused.
He posed as a teenage boy called James Wilson when he met the teenager online and threatened her so much over message and voice notes that she was scared to leave her house.
He then became jealous and controlling over her, saying she couldn’t see her friends.
“I did what he told me to because I was scared what would happen to me, my friends and family,” she told the court.
“I was so frightened of Dismore, or ‘James’ I told a friend of mine what had been going on, and she told me to block him.
“I heard that he had sent indecent photos of me, that I had sent him. I was so embarrassed that people I know and strangers would see pictures of me.”
“Ellis Dismore tried to kill me. I replay that attack over and over again in my head.”
Eventually, she told her mother about Dismore, and contacted the police, which prompted him to send her further threatening messages where he said he would happily do “jail time” for stabbing her in the heart.
He was then seen buying steak knives at a homeware shop on the day of the attack.
After his victim recognised his voice on the street, she tried to run away but he chased her and stabbed her.
Debbie Breen, Head of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Unit at CPS North East, said: “Ellis Dismore is a dangerous and violent sexual predator who manipulated his young victims into sexual activity through fear and intimidation.
“It is clear that these were not idle threats, as Dismore went on to carry out a terrifying knife attack against one of his victims.
“Despite the horrific nature of his actions toward them, the evidence provided by the brave young victims in this case has been instrumental in helping the Crown Prosecution Service to build such a robust case against Dismore.
“We sincerely hope that the part they have each played in jailing such a dangerous man will bring them some measure of comfort.”
