You’re on a career hot streak at the moment. Have you let your success change you?

Why thank you. And absolutely ... I’ve already forgotten all the little people. Now I only hang out with Real Housewives.

Your only low moment last year was losing All Star Family Feud. Name something you’d find in a glove box.

My glove box consists of lube and a sat nav. You never know when you might get lucky.

Comedians have famously bad fashion sense. Do they hand out the dad jeans and white New Balance at stand-up school?

I’m not sure, but it appals me. I love fashion and always feel like I should be more dressed up than my audience.

You’ll have to be on fine sartorial form for Mardi Gras night. What are you thinking, costume-wise?

As few clothes as possible. I’ll be there for a good time, not a long time.

Dead or alive, which comedian would you most like to see live?

Joan Rivers. I’ve been lucky enough to work with her and she was indisputably the greatest of all time.

Joel co-hosts the Sydney Mardi Gras telecast at 8.30pm, March 5, on SBS, and is touring nationally; livenation.com.au.
