Lindy Klim has addressed speculation regarding her marriage, confirming that she and her husband, Adam Ellis, have separated.

The ex-wife of Olympian Michael Klim married British property developer Ellis in 2018.

But the model, wellness entrepreneur, and self-described “Balinese princess”, revealed that the pair have recently called time on their six-year relationship, stating mental health struggles created an irreparable strain on her second marriage.

In an exclusive interview with Stellar magazine, the 45-year-old shared: “We were two people drowning at the same time, and it wasn’t good.”

Klim, a mother of four, shares her youngest child, six-year-old Goldie, with Ellis.

She also has Stella, 18, Rocco, 16, and Frankie, 13 with her first husband.

“Adam and I have separated, but we still love him. He’s an incredible father, not just to Goldie but to my other children as well.

“However, he has been struggling with his mental health for the past two years, which, in turn, has affected my personal wellbeing and mental state.

“Things spiralled out of control. I’m not the person that Adam needs.”

She continued: “I’m not a doctor. I mean, I’m there for support, obviously, but I was being dragged under by everything. I wasn’t able to help him, and I so desperately wanted to and still do.”

Despite their separation, she emphasised that he will “always be a part of our family”, adding her Ellis is getting the help he needs.

Klim also detailed how the relationship took a toll on her physical health, leading to noticeable changes in her weight and hair loss.

“I knew things were getting bad because I became extremely skinny, but it wasn’t until I visited Australia that I realised the state I was in while living with constant anxiety,” she shared.

“As the main carer for my children, I didn’t really have time to have a nervous breakdown. I had to pick myself up as quickly as I could and get on with it.”

Now living in Australia after spending 14 years in Bali, Klim also reflected on the stigma that comes with divorce and separation.

“I don’t care if I fail. I’ve failed at a million things, and it doesn’t bother me. For me, the hardest part is the shame that comes with a second divorce or separation,” she said.

“I worry about what people might think and whether I’ve failed in some way. I’ve had to do a lot of work on myself and show some vulnerability, which I’m not good at.

“I’ve been on the phone to my friends, crying, and I’ve had to let them support me.

“I’m not very good at asking for help. I’m used to handling everything myself because I’ve had to. I’m literally starting from scratch.”

Klim noted that many people have a misconception about her wealth due to her status as a princess and her previous high-profile marriage to Olympic swimmer Michael Klim, but she said that wasn’t true.

“I’m fortunate to have a house in Bali that I’ve put on Airbnb, but I’ve gone through two separations, which affects finances and assets.”
