A Melbourne woman has shared the moment she caught her partner cheating thanks to his Apple Watch.

In a TikTok video, Australian model Christina Podolyan, 26, explained how her now-ex-boyfriend, Fred*, reportedly cheated with “nearly half of Melbourne” but was careless in trying to cover his tracks.

“Back in the day, I used to be a flight attendant, which meant I was away from home for long periods,” she began.

“On this particular day, I was at work while my ex attended a birthday party for one of his relatives.”

She described the party as being full of “beautiful” people from the modelling industry but said that she wasn’t insecure about him going.

“I didn’t think much of it. I was up in the air, I trusted him, and he texted me throughout the night,” she explained.

However, at 3am, as she was driving home, her best friend called her.

“My friend said, ‘Hey, Chrissy, do you know what Fred’s up to tonight?’ I responded, ‘Yeah, he’s at a birthday party with all these models,’” she continued.

Her friend hesitated and then finally admitted, “Well, I really didn’t want to tell you this, but Fred has actually been in the smokers’ area of this club I’m at for the past hour, talking to this girl.”

She mentioned that she saw them exchanging numbers, which baffled Ms Podolyan since she trusted her partner with her “heart and soul”.

When she confronted him the next morning, he came up with an elaborate excuse.

“She grabbed my phone because she wanted to give me her number,” he claimed, adding that he didn’t want to reject her in front of everyone.

“I almost bought into that explanation,” she admitted. “I thought, okay, fair enough, maybe I’m just being paranoid.”

But deep down, she felt something was off and wanted some solid evidence to prove it.

When the pair next met up, she demanded to see his phone and found the girl’s name, ‘Sophie,’ saved alongside “900 poop emojis.”

He looked at her and asked, “Do you really think I’d write her name like that? Obviously, she put it in.”

She decided to let it go as long as it didn’t happen again, however, a few weeks later, she still felt uneasy about the situation.

Trusting her instincts, she noticed his Apple Watch lying next to his bed one day when he was out of the house.

“Of course, I’m going to look through it,” she joked. “My gut told me to search it because I knew I’d find something.

“When I unlocked the Apple Watch and went into messages, my heart sank.

“Even though he was deleting messages off his iPhone, he forgot to delete certain texts from his Apple Watch since they were synched.

“He obviously never thought I would even think to check the Apple Watch, even though it automatically syncs.”

She found 20 different chats with girls, each saved under fake nicknames, with messages like, “I’d love to see you tonight.”

One girl was even saved as “Frank from work,” but he was messaging her saying things like, “Babe, I’d love to catch up with you again.”

Ms Podolyan also found messages from the girl from the party under a completely different name, where he was lying to her about having broken up with his girlfriend.

“He was living ten different lives,” she said. “Ladies, stay woke. You are not crazy if your gut is yelling at you – just check the Apple Watch.”

In the clip’s caption, Ms Podolyan, who is now in a relationship with a woman, wrote, “When I say I felt secure in the video, it turns out I never really knew the feeling of security until I was with a woman. It’s never too late to jump the fence, ladies.”

Her story received hundreds of sympathetic comments.

“How does someone even have the time and energy to do that?” one person wrote.

“His loss,” another commented.

Another woman shared that she found her partner cheating in the same way.

“This is how I found my ex-husband was cheating,” they wrote.

“I’m so sorry to hear that,” Podolyan replied. “Apple Watches have got to be a cheater’s worst enemy.”

Apple Watches sync with your iPhone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing data to transfer between the two devices when they’re paired.

“Because they already sync when the devices are together, it keeps it that way when they’re apart so every update is already on there, but it won’t re-update until they’re together again,” Podolyan explained.
