Astrologers have revealed the one zodiac sign you should “avoid like the plague” if you’re looking for love, branding them “undateable”.

In bad news for Keith Urban, a recent survey has gone viral on TikTok declaring the one star sign that’s “the most undateable” – and it is that of his Gemini wife, Nicole Kidman.
The clip, shared by user @zodiacomomma, has been viewed by close to 400,000 people, and ultimately declares Kidman and her ilk the zodiac sign “society is avoiding like the plague”.
According to the survey of 2000 Americans, which was actually conducted by OnePoll in 2021, 42 per cent of people “refuse” to date anyone born between May 21 and June 21.
It’s a timely reminder, given we’re a day into Gemini season.
Many viewers jumped into the comments to agree with the sentiment, saying they “knew” the sign was “gonna be there”.
“As a Gemini, we’re always number one no matter the topic,” one wrote.
While a second commented: “As a Gemini, I say this is right! Those who do date us can handle a lot. We are not for the weak.”
“Facts my Taurus hubby never knows what side of me he’s going to get lol,” said a third.
Even before a viral tweet last November declared that “Geminis are evil”, the world was rife with Gemini slander. The sign has long had the worst reputation among the astrologically-inclined – as “two-faced” liars, cheats, and thieves.
Grammy-winning artist Lizzo once dedicated a song to every woman who has ever “been victimised” by a Gemini.
“Should I slander Gemini? … You know what? Yes. Give us a reason to like you, Gemini.”
In a 2017 piece for Nylon, Kristin Iverson described them as “the low-key psychopath of the zodiac … responsible for most of the world’s problems”.
“Geminis are too deeply enthralled with what’s in their own heads to even be the slightest bit interested in what's going on in yours. This, then, is what makes them psychopaths,” Iverson, a Gemini herself, continued.
“They will fight you about anything and argue for f***ing ever because they are always sure that they’re right; there’s no other possibility because if it’s something that’s in their head, then it’s true.”
Or, as Danny Larkin warned in a piece for Vice the following year, “if you do manage to pin down a flighty Gemini in a romantic relationship, 1) they’ll probably cheat on you, and 2) you’ll be exhausted by their inability to stop talking for even a moment”.
“Geminis like to dabble in many different interests at once, so naturally the same goes for their dating life. They may like to keep their options open a lot of the time, so they can be a little noncommittal,” Alice Bell wrote for Vogue in 2021, regarding why the sign can be “so hard” to date.
“If you’re looking to settle down and get serious with someone immediately, you may have difficulty doing so with a Gemini. Their mind might change from day to day about how much they like you, and if they find someone they prefer more, they could be quick to move on to someone new.”
Given how prescient astrology vernacular is – mercury being in retrograde is wheeled out as an explanation whenever someone’s life goes completely t*ts up; dating apps give you the option to announce your sign on your profile – this rhetoric can be hard to ignore, even if you are a total sceptic.
It’s worth pointing out, of course, that astrology is not science and there’s no proven evidence that one’s zodiac sign correlates to their personality.
“[Star signs] are a good conversation starter, an ice breaker, a rough guide,” Kerry Ward, an astrologer with over 20 years of experience, told The Independent last year.
“But a person is the sum of way more than their star sign alone. Family, culture, values, education, life experience, friendships, career and health all go into that melting pot of personality, too. I don’t think anyone should base their interactions with others, or their opinions about them, solely on their sign.”
