A popular radio host has revealed he is a grandfather at 37 after his 23-year-old son welcomed his first child.

A popular radio host has revealed he is a grandfather at 37.
Matty Acton, from Brisbane radio show Stav Abby & Matt, took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce his step-son Ethan, 23, had welcomed a baby.
In a series of images, Matty could be seen holding Illyria and bursting into tears at the overwhelming emotion of the moment.
Other snaps showed his family — including his wife, Esther and two other children Xander and Eden — all posing together with their newest member.
He told his co-hosts that everyone was happy and healthy, and it was unreal because the last time they were at the hospital was when his wife had given birth to their youngest child in 2017.
Meanwhile, his wife teased his about his emotional moment.
“Welcome to the family Illyria Fay Acton. We love and adore you,” Matty captioned the images on Instagram.
But, it was the hash tag “grandpa” that had many social media users raising an eyebrow.
“Congratulations to all! But how the hell are you a Grandpa? I thought you were 30-something,” one social media user commented.
Another added: “You’re a grandpa????? But you’re like 30!!!!”
“Hang on … Grandpa? The math ain’t mathing,” one added.
“Adorable – congratulations to the family. What are you going to call yourself now that you are a Grandpa,” another said.
However, it turns out there isn’t a huge mystery behind how the 37-year-old earned the title grandfather.
Matty met his wife Esther when he was 18 through his flatmate, who happened to be the common link between the two, while he was living in Toowoomba.
Esther, who is three years older than her husband, already had a three-year-old when the couple met.
Since that moment, Matty has raised Ethan as his own.
“Esther already had a three-year-old when we met so we don’t know any different. I feel very lucky that I have had the privilege of raising him as my own; he is now 22. Since having more kids, I’d say it’s made us closer,” he told the Courier Mailin May.
He joked on the radio show that he now wants everyone to call him granddaddy.
