Gogglebox’s Bane the humping bulldog a new big brother with baby addition

Bane the humping bulldog from Foxtel series Gogglebox is back in action for season 11 but sporting a new role. He is now a big brother, with stars Matty and Sarah Marie welcoming a baby boy.

How A Guide Dog Can Change a Life

He’s known as Bane the humping Bulldog on popular Foxtel voyeur series Gogglebox.

However, Bane’s role has changed in the upcoming series – he is now a pseudo godfather and big brother to Matty and Sarah Marie’s first child, Malik.

The Fahd family, who star on Gogglebox with friend and notorious Bane-hater, Jad, welcomed baby Malik to the world in November, and say life will never be the same.

“I absolutely love being a mother but I was very overwhelmed at the start,” Sarah Marie said.

“Adjusting to waking up every two hours to feed and overcoming breast feeding problems from mastitis, Vasospasm, to cysts needing to be drained – but it’s all worth it.

“Malik is my little angel and Matty is an absolute natural – for the first week I never even changed a nappy.”

She said Bane – her first baby – was adorably protective of Malik.

“He sits by my feet when I’m nursing and sleeps in his nursery when Malik isn’t even in there,” she said.

“He is always trying to lick Malik’s hands and feet, and Malik is always trying to reach his hand out so that Bane can lick them.

“We didn’t pick Jad as a godfather – that role has gone to Matty’s brother and Bane has specifically requested Malik be his godfather.

“Now that Malik has joined our clan, who knows what you can expect this season – lots of laughs for sure, and I’ll probably be making Jad feel awkward as I breastfeed while watching TV.”

Another big change for Matty and Sarah Marie this year is Bane has been desexed.

“He has definitely cut down on the humping after getting the snip but he still likes to try and have a go at Jad’s leg,” Matty said.

“We don’t see Bane as just a dog, he is part of our family.

“He’s our best friend, our son and now a big brother.

“It’s amazing what dogs know and how they change to their environment.”

And there have been big life changes for Jad too.

“It’s been different since Malik came alone, and I’ve got to get used to not being the centre of attention,” he said.

Jad and Bane have a special relationship.

“I’m a little jealous he’s stolen the limelight … but he’s also added this new vibrancy to the house.

“I do have a soft spot for Bane but he also really annoys me.

“He’s like an annoying brother I want to hit when Mum and Dad aren’t looking.

“And he does still hump my leg – Matty and Sarah Marie spent $5,000 for nothing.”

The 11th season of Gogglebox Australia premieres on Wednesday, February 26, at 7.30pm on LifeStyle, and Thursday at 8.30pm on 10.
