A popular influencer has responded to a troll that has claimed she’s not paying her own way after moving back in with her parents.

Former Married At First Sight bride Martha Kalifatidis has slammed the idea she’s not paying her way.

The 36-year-old, who lives at home with her parents, her partner Michael Brunelli and their toddler son Lucius, was doing a typical Q&A on Instagram when a troll claimed she was mooching off her mum and dad.

“Why don’t you and Michael pay your way? Like the rest of the world,” the troll asked.

Kalifatidis posted the cruel taunt on her social media and said that she wasn’t living with her parents for the financial benefit.

“Our living arrangement has nothing to do with money. The sad thing is you probably believe we live with my parents to capitalise off of the situation. That is the furthest thing from the truth,” she wrote.

“In reality, we mutually enjoy it. Living in a multigenerational home with my parents brings us closer, fosters mutual support, and creates a rich environment where wisdom and experience blend. It also brings my parents happiness.”

The influencer added that she feels “sorry” for the person who couldn’t see the benefits of living with her mum and dad, which have nothing to do with cash.

Kalifatidis is one of Australia’s most successful influencers, having amassed over 700,000 followers on Instagram. She’s also beat the odds and remained with Brunelli, her reality television match, with whom she was paired on Married At First Sight in 2018.

The Melbourne local shares the usual influencer stuff, like photos of her looking fabulous in activewear, but she also shares a lot about her family life.

Instead of posting glam photos, she posts TikToks of her sharing her family life. Often, she films herself in the kitchen cooking food, disagreeing with her mum, and doing the usual family life stuff.

It is wholesome content, like her making banana pancakes for her son, debating the pros and cons of co-sleeping, or arguing over how to clean a chopping board.

It is a formula that works. By sharing her daily life on TikTok, she has amassed over 250,000 followers.

One video featuring her arguing with her mum, Mary, about cleaning a chopping board racked up over four million views.

The TikTok sparked a conversation about whether Kalifatidis should live with her mum.

“I think it is time for you to move out, Martha,” one person commented.

“Time to move out and buy your own chopping board,” another suggested.

“You really need to move out. She’s so done,” one wrote.

“I think people need to understand that this is a mother and daughter who know each other and live with each other. You don’t get to judge that from the outside,” someone else advised.
