Wife rejects SIL's $7.5k gift after her 'creepy' wedding act

"Everyone was too scared to say something on the night, but it was so weird."

Bride has a heartwarming dance with her ill father

"My wife and I got married a couple of months ago. The wedding was amazing, we also went on an amazing honeymoon. Everything went great, and we have settled into our nice married life," a man begins a post in the AITA forum.

However, recently, his wife wanted to talk about "something serious."

"We don’t shy away from expressing our emotions and insecurities to each other," he continued.

"Guests were too scared to say anything"

"She brought up our wedding and talked about how my sibling dance with my sister was too intimate," the newlywed explained.

At first, he thought his wife was joking, but after realising she was being serious, he asked her if anyone else at the wedding thought that.

"She said no, but because everyone was too scared to say it. I told her that’s a straight-up lie, and I have close friends who would have said something, but they didn't. Everyone had a good time at the wedding, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. My sister and I have never really shied away from affection, we know some siblings get awkward with that, but we’re the opposite of that."

The man then explained that he and his sister danced to John Legend's "All of Me," which is known as a love song.

"My wife then asked if we could give my sister’s wedding gift back to her as we haven’t used it yet. It’s a La Marzocco GS3 espresso machine, which is by far the most expensive gift we have gotten out of all the gifts. My wife said the gift just made her feel insecure."

The OP told his wife she was being "completely irrational" and that’s "the most ridiculous thing she has ever said."

"I was probably a bit crude with my words, but I just thought the whole thing was ridiculous. AITA?"

"Surely, multiple people took videos"

It's no surprise that people had a lot of thoughts about the matter.

"I need to see the wedding video," said one, while someone else agreed: "Yes, I demand the SIBLING DANCE TAX. Surely, multiple people took videos."

Another user added: "I want to know how the sister treats the wife, does she try and push boundaries to prove she is closer to you than the wife is? Has she ever made rude comments to your wife? I feel like they aren’t close from your post."

"You say you don't shy away from affection from your sister. What does that mean in the context of a dance?" another Redditor asked.

"That is vague, and I've never heard of a sibling dance at a wedding," another woman pointed out.

And someone else just said, "This is creepy."
