The bride asked me to 'look less pregnant' at her wedding

"Did they expect you to just suck it in somehow and not breathe for the whole time?"

Why kids SHOULD be included at your wedding

We've heard stories about strict dress codes at weddings or child-free stances ... but have you heard about the new 'try not to look pregnant when you're pregnant' policy?

Probably not! But that's what one attendee was faced with after being invited to her friend's wedding when she'd be seven months pregnant.

Taking to X (formally Twitter), the woman, named Angharad explained what happened.

"Just got invited to a wedding in January… they asked me to try not to look pregnant because I’ll take attention," she said in the post that now has over 443k views.

She later added in the comments, "I'll be looking fabulously huge at my wedding instead next month!"

"I don't even know why I was invited in the first place"

She added, "Being as I'll be seven months pregnant, I declined the invite."

X users couldn't help but rush to the comment section to give their two cents.

"I’ll never understand the obsession with being the absolute centre of attention on your wedding day. What’s the big deal if one of the invitees is pregnant? It’s not like she’ll go out of her way to make herself noticed," one person said.

Another person joked, "Give birth at it! That'd teach them."

Then this viewer shared, "I waddled my way around a wedding at 8 months pregnant. Everyone made sure I was treated like a queen so I could enjoy the day.

"These are awful people who don’t deserve your friendship"

"Did they expect you to just suck it in somehow?"

"Did they expect you to just suck it in somehow and not breathe for the whole wedding?" someone questioned.

"How insecure is the bride to even ASK? Did they have suggestions? I attended a wedding where a woman was celebrating a job promotion and taking attention from the couple. That was awkward," someone else commented.

Angharad replied, "Nope was just told to 'try to not look pregnant it will draw attention'…"

She also shared how she explained to the bride that she would not be attending.

"I declined the invite with a few choice words about how the second week of January is a stupid time to get married."
