A schoolgirl has made a terrifying escape from an attempted kidnapping in Melbourne’s CBD.
On 15 November at 10.30 AM, a 14-year-old was walking with her class through Hosier Lane in the city centre as part of an excursion.
As they walked through the street, a man dressed in a black hoodie approached the young girl. He then grabbed her and attempted to drag her away.

Schoolgirl dragged through Melbourne laneway
A good Samaritan who was watching nearby noticed the horrifying attempted abduction and made their way to the girl.
The quick-thinking person then pretended to be a teacher and managed to get the girl free from the assailant.
Thankfully, the teenager was unharmed by the attack.
The assailant was accompanied by another woman wearing a burgundy jacket, white T-shirt and blue jeans.
After the incident, they escaped on foot down Flinders Lane and towards Russell Street.

Alleged attempted abductors on the run
The Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.
The man in the incident is described as having dark-coloured skin and a slim build.
He was wearing black sunglasses, dark-coloured long pants, a dark-coloured hoodie with a red hood, and black shoes with white soles.
He was spotted carrying a black backpack and a black bum bag.
Police are also on the lookout for the woman present at the attempted abduction. The woman is perceived to be Asian in appearance, with a solid build and long black hair.
She was wearing a purple puffer jacket, beige/light pink t-shirt, blue jeans, white and fluoro orange shoes and a blue backpack.
