My kid got a vegan lunch box at a birthday party and I'm thrilled

"That's really stupid. You are supposed to have things like pizza and ice cream at a kid's party, not food that they serve at a day spa," one critic wrote.

‘Vegan bullies’ snub 4yo’s birthday party over 'no cow' cake

A mum shared that she was delighted after her vegan son was given a lunch box at a birthday party that perfectly catered to his dietary restrictions.

The mum, Emma, who is vegan herself, took to Twitter to gush over the thoughtful gesture.

"My son is at a birthday party and look at this cute individual lunch box they made up for him," she wrote on X, adding two eye-watering emojis.

The all-vegan party lunch box

Emma said she had even offered to supply vegan food that her son could eat, but they insisted on catering to him themselves.

All the contents of the personalised lunch box was clearly labelled, from the vegan 'chicken' burger, mini 'no eggs', sweet potato falafel bites and a vegan sausage roll.

They also threw in a vegan Kit Kat to make sure he could still have a treat at the party.

Emma added: "It just automatically makes me think, 'This person cares about us'."

"This is criminal"

In the comments, people couldn't get enough of the thoughtful gesture.

"I’m not even vegan but would explore these treats. I love that for him," one wrote.

"I always used to do this for my kids' parties... and as a cake maker I also always made sure there was a vegan/gluten-free option for cake too. Everyone deserves to enjoy a party," shared someone else.

And a third wrote, "How lovely and considerate of the party organiser."

"How thoughtful and adorable! They really know how to make a child feel special," a fourth said.

"Maybe it isn't huge, but when they are doing so much already, there is definitely more work to sort this, and much easier not to have done it. Very well done!" chimed in a fifth.

However, some people don't want children to be happy, with one writing, "This is criminal. No child should be vegan."

Another shared, "No six-year-old cares about being healthy, they care about tasting things that are delicious and this doesn't look anywhere near delicious."

And someone else added, "No, that's really stupid. You are supposed to have things like pizza and ice cream at a kid's party, not food that they serve at a day spa."
