Mum stunned as husband reveals baby was named after a TV villian

The moment a new mum discovered the “cool” name her husband had chosen for their little girl actually came from a cult-TV show.

A woman has shared the moment she discovered the baby name her husband suggested, which became the moniker they ultimately gave their daughter, came from a Batman character.

Via Shoe shared a video of her response to her other half’s confession after she was convinced to sit down and watch “an episode of Batman Animated Series from the 90s” while at her husband’s family home.

During the clip she can be seen gasping in shock as she’s told her 10-month-old daughter’s “cool” name actually came from the TV show, despite her partner initially claiming he’d just stumbled across it shortly after discovering they were having a little girl.

“So my husband came up with the name Nora right when we found out she was a girl and I loved the name,” she wrote alongside the video.

“He never said where he heard it, just that he thought it was a cool name. Every other name he had come up with had a movie reference or something dorky so I was happy we found a normal name we both loved.”

However, “flash forward a year” and she’s being told to sit down and watch an episode of the show her husband “has loved since he was a kid”.

“The main villain is Mr. Freeze and his beautiful sweet frozen wife… is Nora,” she continued.

“Honestly impressed he kept this so close to his chest. I love my daughter’s name, I love my dorky husband (who ‘accidentally’ proposed on National Batman Day too BTW), but all future baby names will have a thorough background check.”

The clip, which has been viewed more than 30 million times, showed the moment the penny dropped – with Via unable to hide her shock, shaking her head as she drank her drink.

The post was quick to attract thousands of comments, as others revealed their own, often hilarious, name inspirations.

“My husband named our son after a character on Prison Break,” one shared.

“My girl is named after Pretty Little Liars,” another added.

As a third chipped in: “Took my ex wife 7 YEARS before she realised I named out daughter after a Final Fantasy Character.”

“I’m a big fan of Harry Potter and my wife came up with the name Luna not realising and she wondered why I instantly agreed, then the nurses exposed me,” someone else wrote.

However, not everyone had a fun story to share.

“Better than my ex who wanted to name our daughter after the women he was cheating on me with,” revealed one.

“I’d be so mad cuz he didn’t tell me before. Nora is a beautiful name but it’s about trust and honesty,” raged another.
