'It's incestuous': Husband wants to divorce new mum for bizarre reason

A husband has texted his wife that he wants to end their marriage - and it's for the most extraordinary reason.

In the message exchange, he accuses her of "incest" over a "disrespectful act" shortly after she has given birth.

The disrespectful act... is breastfeeding their son.

"You know how I feel about that"

The couple, April and Jonathan (names changed), texted back and forth; and the screenshots shared on X (formerly Twitter) have gone viral.

Jonathon writes, "You’ve been breastfeeding? You know how I f***ing feel about that."

April is taken aback and asks when her husband is coming to get her, and he responds, "I don't know if I am."

The new mum offers, "If you don't like seeing it, maybe I can just do it in a different room?"

"You go behind my back and do something I've stressed about not doing," her husband responds. "It's a proven scientific fact that breast milk is no better than modern formula. I’ll never be able to look at you the same way again."

Jonathon's texts become increasingly unhinged.

"I think you’re a bad wife. I think you don’t respect me. I think you took a joy away from me. I think a lot of things. I enjoy your boobs. Now they’ve been in another man’s mouth, I no longer enjoy your boobs.

"He’s male. And your son. That makes it incestuous in my eyes."

The text exchange ends with the irate husband telling his wife that she can stay in the house until she is "back on her feet", but then she has to find her own place. But he still wants 50/50 custody.

"What did I just read?"

Comments on the posts were firmly against the dad.

"Holy sh*t is disgusting. Some people need to go out and have serious therapy," one user said.

“In a horrible way, he's done her a real favour because he's shown her his true colours in the most disgusting way, and she can't ignore that now,” a second wrote.

"My God. What did I just read? A father is jealous of his newborn child for being breastfed and blaming the mother. What has this world come to?" another added.

One commenter shared this isn't the first time she'd heard this nonsense: "I knew a dude who posted on social media, publicly, that if 'intelligent design were real, one boob would be for baby and the other would stay perky for daddy'.

"At the time, his wife was breastfeeding their three-month-old. Shockingly, she filed for divorce not long after, and he could NOT figure out what went wrong."
