'It's grim': Dad's outrage over detail in messy daughter's room

A teenager's room can be dangerous; you might feel their wrath for stepping foot inside or just simply because it's a dump.
One father's rage has blown over to sharing his daughter's pigsty of a room on TikTok (the clip has since been removed). He asked viewers if other teens were living like this, or if it was just his daughter.
He could barely get in when he started his now-viral video.

"Am I the only person with a daughter who lives like this?" he wrote over the on the clip.
Once he entered the room, he showed the enormous piles of clothes strewn all over the floor. He then turned the camera to pan over her clothes and the wardrobe where they "should" be kept.
It wasn't just clothes that were causing his blood to boil. He then showed the "graveyard" of drinks his daughter had left on her chest of drawers.

"It's lovely, isn't it?"
He turned the camera to show the windowsill with a few plants and more rubbish.
And then he showed the bed.
It was covered in clothes, bags, and more rubbish. Given that there was barely any "clean space" on the mattress, he wondered where she was sleeping.
"There you go… it's lovely, isn't it?" he said.
He concluded the video by adding: "Yeah, I told you it was a bit rough!"

"Not in my house"
The comments section lit up, with many parents insisting they wouldn't accept this mess in their house.
"Not in my house!! No chance," one wrote.
"Exactly - mine wouldn’t dare," another agreed.
"Absolutely no excuse for that. It’s grim," a third commented.
"If you allow it, that’s what you end up with. Sorry, but no, she ain’t leaving the house till that is sorted out," another added.

"Definitely not in my house - wouldn't tolerate it," one parent insisted.
"Omg, I could not deal with that," another admitted.
While this parent offered this solution: "It's her space, and I just close the door. Door closed = no stress!"
Naturally, teenage parents joined the chat to empathise with the dad.
"My daughter's room is a complete mess," one wrote.
"My daughter's is exactly the same," another said.
Finally, one mother reassured the teen's father, saying, "It has nothing to do with how she’s been braised I have three kids, and she’s the only one like it. I feel your pain!"
