'IQ of an egg': Dad's hilarious hospital bag fail

“I’m 34 weeks pregnant, where am I wearing these?”

What to pack in your hospital bag

We all know that in theory packing a hospital bag prior to going into labour is best practice, but sometimes it isn’t the reality.

One woman found that out the hard way when she went to hospital while 34 weeks pregnant with a hospital bag prepared by her loving boyfriend.

The Sun reports Liv Nightingale took to social media after seeing the contents, and her now-viral post has left just about everyone in hysterics.

“This is your sign to pack your hospital bag early,” she wrote.

“Rating the overnight hospital bag my boyfriend packed.”

‘How bad can it be?’ I hear you ask yourself. Well, pretty bad.

"I'm 34 weeks pregnant, where am I wearing these?"

She starts off by showing two body-hugging dresses in her bag.

“Two going out dresses?,” she wrote. “I’m 34 weeks pregnant, where am I wearing these?”

She then showed her toothbrush collection - three of them to be exact - and found a way to praise her boyfriend for packing the ‘essentials’.

There was also some shower gel to freshen up, but naturally he’d forgotten to pack a towel.

That was the end of the praise though, as she then showed off a Dyson Airwrap and heat protection, and a full make-up bag.

In case she wanted a different type of hairstyle, she also had a can of styling gel in the bag.

"The whistle to call him whenever you need his service, what a good boy"

There was one piece of somewhat suitable clothing in the bag, but it was an oversized T-shirt with a popular British soap character printed on the front.

Last, but not least, Liv’s boyfriend had also packed a whistle, just in case he couldn’t hear her from the chair right next to the hospital bed.

“Would rather a fresh pair of pants than the Max Branning T-shirt, but beggars can’t be choosers,” Live wrote.

The post, shared on TikTok, has racked up more than 1.5m views, and people were very amused by Liv’s boyfriend’s attempt.

“The whistle to call him when you need his service, what a good boy,” another person said.

“He packed your heat protection? I’m thoroughly impressed,” wrote a third.

"I'd actually be fuming"

Not everyone saw the funny side though.

“Maybe I’m a diva, but I’d actually be fuming,” one woman wrote.

“I feel sorry for you about your husband’s incompetency,” another person wrote. “He won’t be much help raising a kid, so prepare yourself sweetie.”

Thankfully, it appears Liv was very much joking with her post, as she was fiercely defending her boyfriend in her comments, and she made a follow-up post showing him being the “world’s greatest dad”.
