An Aussie influencer couple has been forced to shut down pregnancy rumours after they posted a bizarre video of an eagle hatching an egg.

An influencer couple has been forced to address pregnancy rumours after fans congratulated them on expecting their first child, despite there being no official announcement.

TV personality Jett Kenny, 31, shared a peculiar video featuring a cartoon eagle laying an egg, with a photo of his girlfriend, Lily Brown, 26, inside.

The clip was the last in a carousel of photos posted from the previous week and was captioned, “Week Six Dump. (Swipe to last for a surprise)”.

Kenny, an Ironman champion and the son of legendary athletes Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny, provided no additional context for the video, which was posted on Tuesday night.

Other images in the post included loved-up selfies of the couple, Kenny buying Brown flowers, and the two spending time with their younger relatives.

Commenters quickly jumped to conclusions, with one writing, “Congratulations, amazing news”.

Another exclaimed, “Congratulations. You’re pregnant. How exciting. Congratulations to you both!”

A third follower replied, “Congratulations, such beautiful news,” while someone else noted, “Such exciting times ahead for you both”.

In response to the speculation, Kenny took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday morning to clarify the situation.

“I didn’t think I’d have to come onto Instagram at 6:15am to address the fact that people think we’re pregnant from an eagle dropping an egg out of its bum, and then a photo of Lily emerges,” he stated. “But we’re not pregnant”.

He then turned the camera to Brown, who confirmed, “We’re not pregnant for the fifteen hundredth time”.

Brown also responded to comments on the post, debunking the rumours.

“How on Earth is me hatching out of an eagle’s egg a pregnancy announcement?” she wrote. “Not pregnant, for the 1000th time”.

She went on to share her confusion over how people could interpret the clip in that way.

“Lily just has a boyfriend who makes funny videos of her hatching out of an eagle’s egg, and apparently that’s what the internet is clutching at as a pregnancy announcement,” she responded to a fan who asked if she was pregnant.

She added that if it were a pregnancy announcement, it would make more sense for a photo of a baby to be inside the egg, not her.

It comes after the couple sparked rumours in August last year when Kenny joked he had to postpone proposing to Brown because she was “too hungover” to climb to the top of the mountain where he intended to propose.

The couple, who appeared on The Amazing Race and have been together since 2022, were travelling in Hawaii when Kenny playfully hinted at his proposal plans.

Brown later explained in her Instagram Stories that she made it halfway up the mountain when she started “dry retching” and ultimately “admitted defeat”.

“Just to make things worse, Jett decided to throw in ‘What if I was going to propose at the top’ to lighten the mood,” she recalled.

“I continued to cry like an actual baby all the way back to the car as a hungover loser who gave up and I’m still ringless”.
