It’s no secret that makeup is a powerful tool for transformation. But for mum-of-eight, Stacey, it totally changed her life.
Diagnosed with thyroid cancer at 27, she lost her thyroid and her teeth in the process. In their place, she uses dentures, which she takes out every evening.
But she doesn’t let the loss of teeth get her down.
In fact, she uses it to her advantage.

Mum-of-eight felt “alone” during her cancer and denture journey
The self-taught makeup artist, who has earned over 300,000 followers on TikTok, shared a series of videos of her getting ready in the morning.
Starting with no makeup and dentures, she lipsyncs in front of the camera, showing off her features without the pearly whites.
She isn’t afraid to bare it all, proudly declaring herself the "catfish queen" of the app.
While she sometimes exaggerates her gums in the ‘before’ clips, her makeup is always spectacular and rounds out the epic transformation.

Her first video went viral in 2021, which was flooded with comments from people who related to her situation.
The 32-year-old explained to Insider that fans online helped her become more comfortable with her own dentures.
“The hardest part of this journey was feeling alone — like there was no one to relate to or open up to about having dentures young,” she said.
“To be able to give other people the peace, acceptance, and inspiration that I was missing was so important to me.”
While she has earned plenty of fans, it hasn’t stopped trolls from making nasty remarks.
“Celebrities have false teeth, fake hair, and makeup artists airbrushing their faces to make them look flawless — and people admire them,” Stacey said.
“But when an everyday woman who battled cancer, has multiple autoimmune diseases and has eight children does those same things to take care of herself, I'm ridiculed and made fun of.”

“I love your confidence!”
Despite the negative comments, the majority of people online admire Stacey and her journey.
“As someone who has always struggled with bad teeth you inspire me so much,” wrote a fan. “I love your confidence,” shared another.
“Literally you give me confidence by seeing your videos!” wrote another fan. “I’m missing almost all my teeth because of cancer, vitamin deficiency and malnutrition.”
“I have dentures too,” a comment read. “Why do people hate us because we wanna have a pretty smile too?”
But some were less than kind. “I feel bad for men these days,” a cruel comment read. “This is false advertising,” read another.
“Don’t ever let anyone bring you down!” fans defended. “You are wonderfully and beautifully made.”
